What a reviewer is checking
A balance confirmation is read as a statement of position: what was held, where, and what it was worth on the confirmation date. Its sections total up and carry forward across pages, so a reviewer's first test is whether the parts still add to the whole. We reproduce every section, including the securities schedules and the composition analysis, and check each total and carried figure against its components.
- Every section reproduced — shekel accounts, foreign currency, deposits, securities
- Carried-forward and section totals checked against their components
- Security names, ISINs, quantities and rates preserved to the digit
What a balance confirmation is
An annual balance confirmation is the statement an Israeli bank sends each customer after the year closes, confirming what the accounts held on the confirmation date. It is not a transaction list. It is a position statement, usually in lettered sections: current-account balances in shekels, foreign-currency balances, deposits with their maturity dates and rates, and the securities portfolio with an analysis of how the holdings are composed.
The nearest equivalents abroad are a year-end consolidated statement or a bank confirmation letter: one document, issued by the bank itself, saying what the customer holds there. That is exactly why courts and lenders like it — a single authoritative document answers a question that would otherwise take a year of statements.
It is also the document where an extract is least useful. The sections carry totals forward from page to page, and a reader handed pages three and four cannot tell what stood on pages one and two.

Who asks for it, and what they accept
Balance confirmations turn up in divorce and family-court disclosure, in mortgage and purchase files abroad, and in source-of-funds review. Assume the recipient wants the whole document — a court or a compliance officer reading part of a confirmation has no way to know what was left out, and we have translated these in full for precisely that reason.
What is generally required is a certified translation: the complete document in English with a signed statement from the translator that it is complete and accurate. Each institution sets its own requirements, and confirming what yours accepts rests with you or your adviser; where a notary is required, we can refer you to one.
Common questions
Can you translate only the pages we need?
We can, but tell us who is receiving it first. Courts and compliance reviewers generally will not accept part of a confirmation, because the sections total up across the whole document. If your recipient has said in writing that a specific section is enough, we will translate that section and say on the delivery which part of the document it is.
What does it cost?
₪139 including VAT. A confirmation that runs long — a securities schedule with many holdings, for instance — is quoted per document instead; send it and we will confirm the full price before any work begins, and the price you accept is the price you pay.
Do you reproduce the securities portfolio in full?
Yes — security names, security numbers and ISINs, quantities, purchase rates, current rates and values, in the order the bank printed them, with each total checked against the lines above it.
Is a certificate of accuracy included?
A signed certificate of translation accuracy is prepared and registered for every order, and included on request at no extra charge. It carries a serial number recorded in our register and is tied to the exact documents it certifies.
