What a lender is checking

A lender abroad reads this report for three things: what you owe, to whom, and whether anything went unpaid. Those facts sit in tables that repeat once per reporting source, and in a chart that most translations quietly leave out. We reproduce the tables source by source, keep the enumerated statuses exact rather than paraphrasing them, and rebuild the chart with English labels.

  • Every reporting source's table reproduced, in the report's own order
  • Fixed statuses and transaction types rendered from a controlled glossary, not paraphrased
  • The twelve-month debt chart reproduced with English labels

What the report is, and who issues it

A credit data report is issued from the Credit Data System operated by the Bank of Israel under the Credit Data Law, 5776-2016. You request it about yourself, and it gathers what banks, credit-card companies and other credit providers have reported: active transactions where you are the borrower, transactions where you stand as a guarantor for someone else, checking accounts and their credit lines, any balance that went unpaid when due, and information received from public authorities.

The nearest foreign equivalent is a consumer credit report, with two differences that matter to a reviewer abroad. It comes from the central bank's own register rather than a private bureau, and it sets out the underlying data — accounts, credit lines, balances, guarantees — rather than a single headline score.

It also contains a chart of how your debt developed over the last twelve months. It is part of the report, and a translation that drops it leaves a visible hole; we rebuild it with English labels.

These reports vary in length, and long ones repeat the same table for every reporting source. Tell us who is receiving it: some recipients want the complete report, others have asked for named chapters only, and the answer changes the quote.

Section headings and common terms, and how they read in English

A short selection from the working glossary for this document. The report's own glossary chapter defines the regulated terms in Hebrew; ours renders them consistently in English.

Who asks for it, and what they accept

Lenders and mortgage brokers abroad ask for it when they cannot pull a local credit file on a foreign borrower, and it also appears in property-purchase files and in financial disclosure where liabilities are in question. It answers a question no payslip can: what is already committed.

A certified translation — the document in English with a signed statement of accuracy from the translator — is what is generally required. Each institution sets its own rules, and confirming what yours accepts rests with you or your adviser; where a notary is required, we can refer you to one.

Common questions

Do we need the whole report translated?

Ask your recipient, and tell us what they say. Some reports run to dozens of pages, much of it repeating one table per reporting source. Where a recipient has named the chapters they need, we translate those and state on the delivery which parts of the report they are; where they want everything, we translate everything.

Is the debt chart included?

Yes. The chart is part of the report, so we reproduce it with its labels, axis and legend in English rather than leaving a gap where it stood.

What does it cost?

From ₪119 including VAT plus ₪10 a page. Send the report and we will confirm the full price before any work begins.

Where do I get the report in the first place?

You request it about yourself from the Bank of Israel's credit data system — it is your own data. We translate the report as it was issued to you; we do not obtain it for you.
